The E'er Good Pundit

A blog concerned generally with the finest points of politics, popery, poetry, and punditry, from the perspective of a convert to the Roman Catholic religion.

Yet again, the liberals are up to no good. Our leftist AP Euro teacher has made my future class read William Manchester's A World Lit Only by Fire (I requested and received an exemption, but God granting me the wisdom to see through the novel's lies, I am not concerned for myself, but for my ignorant and defenceless classmates' precious souls). The piece of garbage is porous with slanders against the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, such as:
I. Manchester's (with his sources all being second hand) description of the Inquisition is an extention of Lea's lies- he presents it as if Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" were true. As per William Walsh's more trustworthy account (and a BBC documentary) the iron lady and the pit were never used; they were made for propaganda purposes in the Low Countries.
II. Will claims that the Church fully supported the anti-Semitism of the age. He fails to mention that all the infamous pogroms were mob actions, denounced by Pontiffs in contemporary bulls, and that Cardinal Borgia (later Alexander VI, not a very good pope, but his faults have been inflated) once gave a community of newly converted Jews (who tended to be insincere) advance warning of a coming mob action.
I have little more time to type. My next poem, to be semi-epic, is going quite well. Thank you, once again, all men (and women) that bother to visit this lonely outpost of fide et veritas.
