The E'er Good Pundit

A blog concerned generally with the finest points of politics, popery, poetry, and punditry, from the perspective of a convert to the Roman Catholic religion.

Having received my May 2007 issue of Coins magazine, I plan on waiting it out all ancy until 2014...

...because that's when Calvin Coolidge gets his Presidential Dollar (Grace Coolidge will get a $10 gold piece)! Silent Cal has always been one of my favorite presidents. Not only did he eliminate the national debt, and persue laissez faire policies; he refused to recognize the government of Soviet Russia, and had a few Reagan-style, anticommunist interventions in Latin America. His major fault, I believe, was supporting Mexico's revolutionary, anticlerical government. At home, though, it would be fair to declare him America's last great Congregationalist. Holding none of the anti-Catholic hatred of yesterday, and not today's moral wimpiness of the Congregationalists, he was all in all a rational, reasonable leader. I wish he were alive today. I must say, though, because of his shyness, his personality is quite the opposite of mine.

Also of interest: I just got into Assumption College.

Congrats on your acceptance at Assumption.

Now go in there boldly with the love for God & your faith & never back down to any goofball liberal professors or fellow students.
